Posted on 25 Sep 2020

PILA (the Public Interest Law Alliance, a project of FLAC) is hosting this online event to help social justice organisations in Ireland develop a deeper understanding of how they can use pro bono to advance their mission and deliver social change in 2020 and beyond.

Date:    13 October 2020

Time:    10.00-11.30

Venue:  Online [Zoom details will be circulated in advance to those who have registered]

This event is for social justice organisations working with marginalised and disadvantaged groups who would like to learn more about how they can use the law to advance their social change mission and tackle pressing social issues.  We will be joined by a diverse panel of NGO leaders who will each share how they have successfully boosted their impact through accessing PILA’s Pro Bono Referral Scheme.

Panel members will include:

•            Damien Walshe, Independent Living Movement Ireland

•            Edel McGinley, Migrants Rights Centre Ireland

•            Rebecca Keatinge, Mercy Law Resource Centre

•            Robbie Sinnott, Voice of Vision Impairment

•            Tanya Ward, Children’s Rights Alliance

To mark over a decade of promoting public interest law, the key findings of the PILA Impact Report 2009-2019: ‘Challenging Injustice, Championing Change’ will also be shared at this event.
