Regulation

Depending on the work that they do, charities and other nonprofit organisations must comply with many legal and regulatory requirements.

From the Charities Regulator to the Revenue Commissioners, from the Register of Lobbying to the Health and Safety Authority and from Employment Law to Children First, charities are faced with increasingly complex compliance requirements.

In fact to list the entire range of potential regulators for nonprofits in Ireland would simply not be possible here. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the volunteers who govern these organisations (charity trustees) to make sure that the varied regulatory requirements are met.
