Social Enterprise Forum - Dublin
The Social Enterprise Forum is a series of regional events designed to bring social enterprises together to connect, learn and share. The first event will take place in Dublin on 27 May.
The Forum will combine interactive discussions, expert input and opportunities to engage directly with peers and sector leaders.
Highlights include:
- Marketing and Awareness Table Discussion
An interactive, small-group session where participants will explore real-life communications and marketing challenges and share practical ideas and approaches that work. - Skills and Leadership Panel Discussion
A panel featuring representatives from leading social enterprises, sharing their experiences of leadership, organisational development and building skills within their teams, followed by Q&A. - Funding Training and Q&A
A practical session outlining funding opportunities and supports available to social enterprises, with the chance to ask questions and gain clarity on funding pathways.
This event is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, and delivered in partnership with Social Enterprise Republic of Ireland (SERI), the Irish Social Enterprise Network (ISEN), and the Local Development Companies Network (LDCN).

Meet Your Speakers
Emma Murtagh is the Director of Development and Member Services at The Wheel, Ireland’s national association for charities, community groups, and social enterprises. With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, she is a senior strategic leader responsible for expanding and strengthening The Wheel’s supports and services for its members and the wider sector, including Ireland’s growing social enterprise community.
Rob Brown joined The Wheel in 2023 as Communications and Marketing Officer and, in 2026, took up his current role as Social Innovation Manager.
He is responsible for the ongoing development and communication of the New Solutions Social Innovation Hub, a gateway for advancing social innovation and strengthening the social innovation ecosystem in Ireland by fostering active inclusion, promoting equal opportunities, ensuring non-discrimination, and supporting active participation and employability, particularly for disadvantaged groups.
Sharon Hughes is the Leadership Academy Manager in the Skills Team of The Wheel. Sharon has been involved in membership organisations for over 20 years. Before working for The Leadership Academy, she was C.E.O. of a nonprofit. Her background is managing member Events and Communications. Sharon is a qualified Coach, is a member of the Teaching Council of Ireland and is currently studying Psychology. She is low-key obsessed with Leadership.
