Conflict Resolution Masterclass  How do you Fix the Inner Life when the Outer Life is Badly Broken?  Free Zoom Webinar, Tuesday 7 Nov at 7– 8.30pm

War and Peace.  Perhaps the greatest least finished novel of all time. Although Ulysses by James Joyce might run it close!

The two states of the human condition, for we often seem to be stuck in one and yearning for the other so in that sense Tolstoy got the order the right way round in his title.

For according to one statistic in the last 3400 years the world has only been at peace for 288 of those years or less than 8% of that time. This year very sadly clearly isn’t one of them.

We forever seem to be declaring war on each other to try and cause peace whereas maybe we should be declaring peace on each other and then see that there is in fact no need to cause war or conflict in the first place to try and get the peace we say we want!

But wars and conflicts do break out between nations, creeds, religions, communities, classes, peers, friends, neighbours, colleagues, families, and lovers. We even declare war on things like poverty, hunger, and inequality in all its forms and seem to feel the need to attack everything we don’t like. We even attack people we regard as being intolerant for their lack of tolerance which would seem to be a case of the pot calling the kettle black!

Then when we tire of all the fighting, we even fight over how to stop the fighting and then fight over the peace we say we all want to end the fighting!  No wonder there has been so little peace.

Can we ever escape the perpetual lock of the fight or flight responses to dealing with differences and conflict?  Well yes, we can if we find what Abraham Lincoln titled his Gettysburg Address – A New Birth of Freedom.

So conflict resolution is a great and worthy process to engage in wherever possible to end the pain and hurt and begin the outer healing process.

But what about the inner life of the person?  Their integrity, their intactness, their wholeness, their self-respect and self-worth, their humanity, their human beingness?  How do we fix that in ourselves and in each other when dealing with conflict?

For Peace is not the mere absence of Conflict it is the presence of Peace.

Peace of Mind

Peace of Body and

Peace of Spirit

In this free Zoom Webinar we shall be looking at some simple, practical, and effective techniques to shift the focus slightly in Conflict Resolution from trying to fix the problem (what you resist, persists) to trying to fix the people in it first.

And from that place see if that helps change the focus and energy from being on and about the problem towards finding the solution and the kinder, fairer future that lives within each one of us and each other if we’re prepared to look at ourselves and each other with our good eye and not our bad one.

All are welcome.
