Position: Campaigns Officer
Based: Dublin 2/Remote
Reporting to: Campaigns Manager
Duration: May 2021 – December 2021 (To be extended if additional funding is secured)
Starting Date: ASAP

We are recruiting for a Campaigns Officer to work on an exciting national cross-sectoral campaign to raise awareness of the work of the sector and improve public and policymaker understanding and engagement with charities, community and voluntary organisations and social enterprises, over the coming years.

This public awareness campaign is being developed and executed by a steering group of key sectoral leaders; Boardmatch, Charities Institute Ireland, Disability Federation of Ireland, Dóchas, The Wheel, and Volunteer Ireland,

It is the first campaign of its kind in Ireland and promises to be an exciting and rewarding post, offering the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of key stakeholders within the broad charity and community sector.

The primary requirements of this role will be to assist in the general execution of the campaign and with the logistics and delivery of training, liaison with a variety of external contractors, and assistance in the implementation of a communications strategy – in particular the creation of digital content for social media and website.

The successful candidate will have experience in working on public facing campaigns, ideally campaigns involved in shaping public opinion, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

This new role will require a high level of self-motivation, an ability to work collaboratively with partners and an enthusiasm for communications and messaging, as well as a passion for the work and impact made by charities, community and voluntary organisations and social enterprises.

The successful candidate would be employed by The Wheel and be line managed by The Wheel’s Campaigns Manager.

The campaign, which this role will play a key role in delivering, is supported by The Community Foundation for Ireland via its RTE does Comic Relief Fund.
