Working with the Schools Engagement Manager on implementation of the programme and driving the growth of Schools transition year students Camino for Cliona’s
Cliona's Foundation is a national charity that believes no family should suffer financially while caring for a seriously sick child.
Established in 2008 Cliona's provide financial support to families caring for a seriously sick child or child with chronic complex care needs to help with the significant additional non medical costs of caring . These hidden costs can include but are not limited to accommodation, travel, car parking, specialist equipment & much more & can amount to approx €10,000 per annum
Cliona's have supported over 1,800 families over the past 18 years & distributed in excess of €3.6m , all in the absence of any government support
The Schools Programme is one of our major fundraising initiatives since it commenced in 2023 & has being growing significantly since it's inception.

Main Duties
- Implement Cliona’s existing Camino for Cliona’s Transition Year Trips and Schools Engagement Programme.
- Deliver presentations to Transition Year students in schools all over Ireland (mainly in September, October and November) to recruit students to take part in Camino for Cliona’s.
- Responsibility for the long-term management of the administration and logistics of Cliona’s Camino for Cliona’s Schools Engagement Programme via liaison with students, teachers and parents as well as the travel company who organises the trips.
- Reporting to the Schools Engagement Manager and working with the team including the Head of Fundraising to develop campaigns to drive awareness using a range of channels including digital, print and direct mail for the school’s programme.
- Foster new school relationships and maintain strong relationships with existing schools.
- Ensure schools, students and their families are managed and supported effectively across the activation and delivery of Camino for Cliona’s events.
- Development of partnerships for Camino for Cliona’s and GAISCE opportunities.
- Regularly monitor and report on fundraising income and engagement across the Schools Programme.
- Assembly of fundraising packs in our office in Limerick
- Travel to Spain to lead Camino trips.
Requirements
- Experience in & strong communication, public speaking, school talks, presentation skills with the ability to inspire support
- Ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Ability to manage successful events and projects.
- Strong digital media skills- capability to use Canva and record and edit video content is a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and a team player.
- Highly organized with ability to work under pressure, prioritise and multi-task.
- Creativity and innovation in the development and implementation of the Schools Engagement Programme: Camino for Cliona’s.
- Strong research skills and proficiency in Microsoft office especially Excel.
- Passionate about making a difference to the families supported by Cliona’s Foundation and to the development of the incredible Transition Year students we work with on this programme.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to travel when required to schools talks throughout Ireland and to lead trips on the Camino for Cliona’s each year.
- Flexibility to work occasionally outside normal working hours to attend special events, volunteer meetings and other events such as on the Camino itself.
- Experience in national charity fundraising campaigns will be particularly valued.
- Fluency in English, written and verbal
- Spanish intermediate level would be a distinct advantage.
- Full clean driver’s license and access to a car
- Eligible and available to travel outside of Ireland.
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Ireland at the time of application
Location: Based in Ireland, Hybrid Role, remote work, visiting schools nationwide and sometimes Limerick head office for meetings as required.
Salary: €37,000 DOE
Annual Leave: 21 days
