Security Guard for the largest frontline provider of domestic abuse support services for women and children in Ireland.
Who we are:
Sonas Domestic Violence Charity provides frontline safety and support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse. As part of our commitment to maintaining safe, secure, and confidential environments, we are now seeking a Security Guard to join our team on a fixed‑term basis until the end of August 2026.
This role is essential in ensuring the safety of our premises, staff, and service users, delivered with professionalism, respect, and a strong understanding of confidentiality and risk management.
About the Role
As a Security Guard with Sonas, you will:
- Monitor and maintain the security of the premises and surrounding areas.
- Control access to the building, verifying all visitors, contractors, and deliveries.
- Conduct routine patrols of entrances, exits, and external grounds.
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, intercoms, and security systems.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, suspicious behaviour, or security breaches.
- Contact emergency services, Gardaí, or on‑call management when required.
- Record and report all incidents, accidents, and concerns.
- Support caretaking duties including waste disposal, recycling, and general site upkeep.
- Ensure confidentiality of the location at all times.
You will report to the Service Manager/Head of Services and work across the Greater Dublin Area.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who has:
- A valid PSA Licence.
- Full clean driving licence and is able to use their own car
- Previous experience in a security environment.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Strong communication and conflict‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
- Experience working in social care or community services (desirable).
- Experience monitoring CCTV and security systems.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
Appointment to this role is subject to:

- Valid Right to Work documentation (must be valid for at least 2 years from start date)
