National Helpline Volunteer

Helpline Volunteers wanted for National Helpline providing information, support and guidance to the fostering community for 4 hours, 1 day per week, Mon-Fri.

Helpline Volunteers needed for the Irish Foster Care Association’s National Helpline Service to provide information, guidance and emotional support to the fostering community, one day a week for up to 4 hours between the hours of 11am and 3pm. 

The Helpline Service offers independent, objective, non-judgmental and a supportive space to discuss and explore issues of concern relating to foster care.  The National Helpline Service is managed by trained and certified staff and volunteers, some of who are Foster Carers, providing a telephone, email, and webchat support service from Monday – Friday 11am – 3pm. 

Full training provided, time and commitment is an 18 month commitment post training; Certification in Counselling Skills with ICHAS (Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences ) starts in October 2025 who are based in 3 locations nationwide and inhouse training provided in IFCA offices in TU Tallaght and remotely. Ongoing supervision and training also provided.
