We’re looking for a proactive and relationship‑focused Learning & Development Officer to support the delivery of STEP in Ireland.
Our Samaritans Training and Engagement Programme (STEP) supports organisations to train their people to step up and support anyone struggling to cope.
We’re looking for a proactive and relationship‑focused Learning & Development Officer to support the delivery of STEP in Ireland. In this role you will provide world class support to our customers, from initial enquiry through to course delivery and evaluation, ensuring they receive an excellent customer experience.
You’ll coordinate all aspects of training delivery, supporting Associate Trainers and delivering some training sessions yourself. With a natural ability to build rapport, you’ll grow and steward your own portfolio of customers, generating vital income and helping to expand the reach of our training services.
You’ll bring strong organisational skills, confidence in managing competing priorities, and a passion for developing warm, effective relationships. Working closely with colleagues across Ireland and the UK, you’ll ensure our training offer runs smoothly, is administered accurately, and continues to make a meaningful difference.
Contract terms:
€43,000 – €47,000 per annum, plus benefits
The pro-rata salary range is: (€25,800 - €28,200 for 21 hours)

- Part-time – 21 hours, 3 days per week

In-person working: Meeting in person and working collaboratively are things we value. We work in person around 2 days or more per month
What you'll do:
- Promote and market our STEP training opportunities to a range of customers
- Manage the sales process of STEP, ensuring all customers have a great experience
- Support the full administration process, from course booking and scheduling through to delivery and evaluation
- Build our pipeline of customers through sector mapping and networking, maximising opportunities for income generation
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to maximise satisfaction and retention
- Confidently deliver training to course delegates
- Work with the wider UK STEP team to ensure a consistent offering and experience
What you’ll bring:
- Experience in business development and income generation, preferably in a training environment
- Demonstrable experience in administering and organising events or training courses
- Ability to manage a varied workload with competing priorities and demands
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong customer service mindset and experience working in a customer or client facing role
- Experience delivering or facilitating training in a corporate environment (desirable)
