JOB SUMMARY
- A qualification in Coaching, Adult Guidance, Youth Work or similar would be an advantage,
- Role is based in our Dublin Office and locations in Dublin West area: particularly Tallaght, Clondalkin, Ballyfermot, Dublin 8. Hybrid working model.
- Travel required, driving licence beneficial but not essential,
- Salary Band C: €36,000 - €42,000 depending on experience, Full time role 35 hrs per week.
- Experience working in the Disability or Community sector or Recruitment is an advantage,
- Good knowledge of issues and concerns for employers around diversity and inclusion,
- Competent user of MS Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint and CRM.

Job description
The EmployAbility Job Coach responsibilities include working with each participant to create an Individual Employment Plan, helping clients with job searching, preparing for job interviews, and enhancing their workplace skills. The BITC Job Coach will also support employers in becoming more confident and equipped to employ people with disabilities. By advocating for their participants while also appreciating the needs of each business, the coach will aim to maximise successful outcomes for everyone.
To be successful as an EmployAbility Job Coach, you should have experience of working with disadvantaged groups and be comfortable with working in different Dublin locations, have knowledge of the jobs market and commitment to helping people achieve their employment goals. Ultimately, a great job coach builds a productive working relationship with participants based on trust and mutual respect and demonstrates excellent organizational, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a case load of jobseekers with health issues or disabilities towards employment and related outcomes
- Work in collaboration with each participant to identify their needs, skills, experiences and work aspirations and develop an individual action plan
- Build and maintain relationships with businesses to source opportunities for employment
- Support both company and employee during the matching process and in the early stages of employment
- Develop and implement individualised plans to support successful outcomes over a 12-month period
- Where necessary, help the employer to carve a role for the participant and provide on-the-job support
- Build relationships with training/ education providers in the local area
- Work with the EmployAbility team to foster relationships with Intreo centres and other organisations to maintain a stream of appropriate referrals
- Work with the coordinator to facilitate group employability training as required
- Proactively work with BITCI colleagues involved in Social Inclusion to optimise outcomes for businesses and clients
- Maintain detailed records and provide regular reports against targets to funders
- Undertake training, research and consultation with stakeholders to develop best practice
- Other tasks as required.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
A qualification in Coaching, Adult Guidance, Youth Work or similar would be an advantage
Experience:
- Experience working in the Disability or Community sector
- Experience managing a case load of clients
- Experience supporting people into employment
- Experience approaching employers, including cold calling
Skills, knowledge:
- Understanding of the issues facing people with disabilities or health issues in finding and maintaining employment
- Thorough understanding of how to succeed in job seeking, including CV preparation and networking
- Good knowledge of issues and concerns for employers around diversity and inclusion
- Knowledge of organisations working to support people with disabilities
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
- Competent user of MS Excel, Teams, Sharepoint and CRM systems
