Head of Communications

Active Retirement Ireland is recruiting a Head of Communications. This is a key role within our team as this person is responsible for all Active Retirement Ireland’s internal and external communications. 

This is a full-time role (35 Hours per week) reporting to the CEO. While the organisation is open to hybrid working arrangements, attendance in the National Office in Dublin 2 days per week on average would be expected. Frequent travel to our 9 regions around the country is also required with overnights stays from time to time.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Communications professional with at least five years' experience in a similar role
• Highly organised individual with ability to manage their own time and work on their own initiative 
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting hard deadlines
• Third level qualification relevant to the role
• Excellent English writing skills with experience of content creation
• Experienced in using digital marketing tools social media
• Experience of using WordPress, Canva and Mailchimp 
• Own car with full clean driving licence
• Experience of non-profit organisations in either a voluntary or employment role
• Resident in Ireland with legal right to work in Ireland with no restrictions

Desirable 

• Experience of working in, or with, a membership organisation 
• Knowledge of working with Salesforce or similar CRM programs
