Fixed-Term

6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Hours:

35 hours per week. Some out of hour’s work required.

 

Salary:

€43,500 per annum (€21,749 pro-rata)

 

Purpose:

The Fundraising and Communications Executive is a vital member of this dynamic and growing team. This role will support both fundraising and communications functions to ensure the organisation continues to strengthen its profile, deepen engagement with supporters, and further develop and sustain diverse income streams year on year.

Coolmine is a leading drug and alcohol treatment service providing community, day and residential services to men and women with problematic substance use and their families in Ireland established since 1973. Coolmine Therapeutic Community believes that everyone should have the opportunity to overcome addiction and lead a fulfilled and productive life.

The Fundraising and Communications Department has significantly strengthened its impact over the past two years. Through strategic social media engagement, the organisation has increased its online presence and enhanced its external profile. The department has also successfully expanded its fundraising portfolio, growing income streams across grants, trusts and foundations, community campaigns, and corporate partnerships.

Role Responsibilities: (Include, but not limited to)

Communications & Digital (Core Cross-Functional Role)

  • Develop and schedule engaging content aligned with Coolmine’s brand, voice, and values.
  • Support the implementation of a structured content calendar across digital platforms.
  • Assist in growing and maintaining Coolmine’s social media presence and engagement.
  • Work with internal teams to source content, stories, and updates from services nationwide.
  • Monitor and report on digital performance metrics where required.

Storytelling & Impact Communications

  • Gather and develop compelling client and graduate stories that demonstrate impact.
  • Liaise sensitively with staff and clients to ensure stories are ethical, authentic, and empowering.
  • Support the use of storytelling across fundraising campaigns, reports, and digital platforms.

Fundraising Support (Grants, Trusts & Foundations)

  • Research and identify funding opportunities from grants, trusts, and foundations.
  • Support the development and submission of high-quality, compelling funding applications.

Community & Events Fundraising

  • Provide administrative and practical support to community fundraisers.
  • Assist supporters in setting up and managing online fundraising pages.
  • Support the delivery of key campaigns (e.g. Women’s Mini Marathon, Sober October).
  • Coordinate logistics and promotion for fundraising and organisational events (e.g. graduations, launches).

Collateral & Content Development

  • Assist in the creation of high-quality communications and fundraising materials, including: 
    • Presentations (PowerPoint)
    • Corporate proposals
    • Impact reports

Person Specification:

Eligibility to Work (Essential)

  • Must have a valid Irish Work Permit for the EU and Ireland.

Essential

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and persuasive content.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work across both fundraising and communications functions.
  • Proactive, flexible, and willing to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience or interest in fundraising (grants, community, or corporate).
  • Experience in digital marketing, social media management, or content creation.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva and social media scheduling platforms.
  • Experience supporting events or campaigns.
  • Understanding of the non-profit or charity sector.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Comfortable in digital marketing space and utilising relevant online platforms
  • A good knowledge of Canva
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Knowledge of fundraising sector preferable but not essential
  • Excellent writing capabilities
