Join us and your Irish National Contact Points as we look at EU funding for youth activities through the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes and the first Interreg NPA Youth Call!

Our colleagues from Léargas and the Northern & Western Regional Assembly will provide an overview of their funding programmes and the types of youth-focussed activities that can be delivered.

Meet Your Presenters

Portrait of Mark Harding

Mark Harding works with Léargas as the Lead on the National European Youth Support Project, a project set up to support youth work organisations to engage in Erasmus+ and ESC opportunities. Established in 2025 this project provides additional hands-on support and targeted outreach to relevant youth sector organisations. This project is funded by the Dept. of Education and Youth. Prior to starting in this role Mark worked as a Development Officer. With City Of Dublin Youth Services and as a youth worker in Finglas. Mark through his lived and work experience operates with the fundamental belief that youth work has the power to transform.

Ann Marie Spillane works with Léargas on the National European Youth Support Project, a project set up to support youth work organisations to engage in Erasmus+ and ESC opportunities. Prior to starting in this role Ann Marie worked as Kerry Comhairle na nÓg Coordinator with KCYS, as well as supporting the organisation in developing their Youth Participation offering. 

Portrait of Travis O Doherty

Travis O Doherty is the EU Programmes Liaison Officer at the Northern and Western Regional Assembly (NWRA). As a Contact Point for EU funding programmes, Travis supports regional stakeholders in securing and delivering transnational funding opportunities. He advises stakeholders on funding strategy, consortium development, and programme engagement and manages the NWRA EU funding network. Travis is a member of the EU Green Alliance Global Strategic Roadmap task force. Travis serves as a Monitoring Committee member for the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, and an Associate Monitoring Committee Member of the Interreg Europe Programme. With 13 years’ experience in EU funding, he has managed 15 EU and nationally funded projects and held Contact Point responsibilities across four EU funding programmes.

Emily Nelson

Emily Nelson is European Programmes Manager at The Wheel where she oversees the delivery of Access Europe, a support and capacity building programme for the community and voluntary sector around accessing and managing EU funding.  This involves researching EU funding opportunities that are relevant to the sector and The Wheel’s members, coordinating and delivering training and events related to EU funding, and assisting organisations in building relationships with potential EU project partners.
