Hours: Full-time (35 hrs per week) – 9am to 5pm – Mon - Fri
Location: The Society operates a hybrid working model with a combination of remote and in-person (Dublin 4 office) working.
Office Days: Office attendance days are Wednesday & Thursday
Salary: €60,000 per annum

What you'll do:
The Business Analyst will provide structured technical analysis and requirements support to bridge business need and technology delivery. This role will provide dedicated analysis capability to develop technical requirements and improve decision quality. It is a critical hire to ensure readiness for large term strategic projects, clarity of scope, and disciplined execution.
The Business Analyst will work across teams to understand organisational goals, analyse and recommend process improvements for a host of critical technical projects, and ensure that solutions align with strategy and impact outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Definition
- Support stakeholder engagement to gather and document business requirements, providing technical input to inform prioritisation;
- Translate operational needs into structured functional and non-functional specifications in-line with business decisions with a strong emphasis on technical clarity;
- Produce clear technical documentation to support procurement, configuration, development activity and test cases for new software development.
2. Process Analysis and Improvement
- Map current workflows and identify gaps, duplication, and inefficiencies to ensure new solutions are optimised;
- Analyse systems usage and data flows to identify improvement opportunities;
- Develop data dictionaries, literacy and definitions.
3. Solution Design and Recommendation
- Recommend data-driven improvements, system enhancements, and process changes related to new software solutions;
- Work with technical teams and other stakeholders to assess new solutions on cost, risk and strategic alignment criteria;
- Support business case development where required;
- Define end-to-end data requirements including data sources, transformations, dependencies, and quality considerations;
- Support assessment of technical feasibility in collaboration with developers, solution architects, or vendors.
4. Liaison Between Business and Technical Teams
- Act as a key bridge between operational teams and technology partners;
- Ensure shared understanding of scope, constraints, and outcomes;
- Support agile or structured delivery processes as appropriate.
5. Implementation and Adoption
- Support testing, validation, and user acceptance/business acceptance processes for new solutions;
- Support benefits tracking and evaluation to ensure delivered solutions meet intended outcomes;
- Ensure training, transition materials, and communications plans have clear and actionable BA input;
- Assist as required in change management planning and stakeholder communication;
- Monitor adoption and identify follow-up optimisation opportunities.
Experience and Skills
- 3+ years proven experience as a Business Analyst in digital, technical process, or systems transformation environments;
- Experience analysing business processes and workflows across operational, digital, or enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, case management, fundraising, finance, or data platforms);
- Experience working in complex stakeholder settings. Charity or not-for-profit experience desirable;
- Strong process mapping and documentation capability;
- Proven ability to analyse data and translate insight into practical recommendations;
- Experience supporting system implementation or major change programmes;
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.

General
- The Irish Cancer Society operates a no-smoking policy, and the post holder must not smoke in the office or when on Society business outside the office.
- Be willing to occasionally work outside of normal working hours.
