As AkiDwA moves into its third decade, we are determined to positively impact the lives of migrant women on a larger scale. On Tuesday 5 April, the organisation will be launching their new Strategic Plan for 2022-2025: 'Moving Forward Together, Bigger and Better'. The online event will take place on Zoom from 2pm to 4pm.

The Plan establishes the direction that AkiDwA intends to follow over the next three years and outlines a range of actions which are to be carried out in order to positively impact the lives of migrant women. During the launch we will outline the main points of the strategy and the central goals that the organisation will address in the following years.

The organisation's approach is multi-levelled and interconnected. AkiDwA aims to ensure migrant women’s voices are heard and reflected in policy on a local, national, and international level. AkiDwA works to ensure policies are implemented which positively impact equality and migrant women’s lives. We ground our policy advocacy work in the lived experiences of migrant women, whose participation we seek to promote across all levels of society.

With the implementation of this plan, we will work on both an individual and societal level. To achieve our vision and mission and to support the people that we present in a meaningful way, AkiDwA will seek to collaborate, partner and work with others. That is why we have invited a number of influential speakers to join us for this event to highlight what needs to be done when it comes to migrant women and their rights, for moving forward together, bigger and better! We will have representatives speaking from the Department of Justice, IHREC, LGBT Ireland,  Glencree Reconciliation centre, Public Appointment Services,  the National Women's Council of Ireland, Doras Lumni, Immigrant Council Ireland and more.
