ADAPT has launched its Autumn 2022 programme of events and we are excited to kick off a busy few months.

Invite: Citizens' Think-Ins Knowledge Sharing Forum

ADAPT will host a Citizens' Think-In Knowledge-Sharing Forum about the outcomes and insights generated by the 2020/2021 Citizens' Think-In series. It takes place virtually on 7 September 2022, at 10.30-11.45am. There will be guidelines on hosting your own Think-In too.

Upcoming #DiscussAI Think-Ins

"Big Brother is watching... So what?" ADAPT will host a #DiscussAI Think-In as part of START European Researchers' Night 2022 which will be held in Trinity College Dublin on 30 September from 5.30-7.00pm. The Think-In will invite participants to have their say on the use of AI for public surveillance.

On 18 October 2022, we will hold an interactive Think-In at Kildare Library (Maynooth branch). The topic of discussion will also be around public surveillance. Register your interest here: https://forms.gle/NbUXGDDPPNrLyxMB7

November will see a collaboration with the SignOn project which is working to bridge the communication gap between Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people through an accessible translation service. In this Think-In the topic of discussion will be centered around sign language and machine translation. An in-person Think-In will be held on the 12th November 2022, in Deaf Village Ireland, Dublin 7. Following this Think-In there will be an online Think-In on the same topic at a European level, expanding the conversation and bringing more awareness to this issue.
