When Conflict Occurs, Surely More Conflict Isn’t the Best Way to Resolve it. So, What Is? Seven Ways to Move from Conflict to Consensus (Free Zoom Webinar ,Tuesday 21 July - 7.00 - 8.30pm)

Look around the world and it’s not hard to see that conflict exists pretty much everywhere you look.

Between Humans and Nature.

Between Nations.

Between Religions.

Between classes.

Between the genders.

Within families.

Within the education system.

Between neighbours.

Within Communities.

Between Employers and Employees.

Between businesses.

Between generations.

And even within ourselves.

When conflict occurs the prevalent strategy in dealing with it seems to be to try and win by using bigger and more powerful weapons than the adversary.

Including such things as:

  • Litigation.
  • Weapons, Missiles and Bombs.
  • Pesticides and Insecticide (a genocide enacted upon the insect world)
  • Economic Exploitation
  • Historical and Modern Slavery
  • Punishments such as prison and even the death penalty.
  • Violence.
  • Tariffs.
  • Blockades.
  • Embargoes.
  • Assassination and Murder
  • Rape.
  • Abuse.
  • Trolling.

And the first and possibly most powerful of weapons used in conflict - language.

With many world leaders claiming that the best way to deal with present and future conflicts is to up “Defence” spending it is little wonder that the template we mostly have in the world for dealing with conflict is Attack and Defence.

We attack each other’s positions whilst vigorously defending our own.

Surely there must be better ways to deal with all forms of conflict rather than fighting, violence and competition beyond the cold, dark, callous Darwinian world of survival of the fittest?

The good news is that there are.

For, yes, conflict is hard; hard to endure and hard to solve.

So, what are some of the ways that we can soften conflict and its impact when it occurs, and how can we resolve it in ways that leave all parties in a better place and space than the conflict that they find themselves in?

In this free Webinar we will look at seven of them, which if applied can help soften conflict and help make a kinder and fairer future easier to see and find – together.

Spoiler alert: They all share one common starter feature – don’t make it worse for anyone involved in the conflict!  😊

All are welcome and hopefully it will be an interesting and enjoyable process together with some light bulb moments along the way.
