Join us on 8 September at the Academy Plaza Hotel, Dublin, for a morning conference marking the culmination of RISE: Engaged Research in the Social Economy - an Erasmus+ funded initiative bringing together the social economy and the research sector to enable more impactful, community-centred research.
The event will bring together key stakeholders and experts from across the research, policy, and social economy sectors to reflect on the findings of RISE, hear from those who took part in the pilot training programme, and look ahead to what a sustained engaged research support offer for the sector could look like. The morning will include panel discussions, input from research and policy experts, and a facilitated consultation giving delegates the opportunity to shape the next phase of this work. Networking lunch to follow.

Meet Your Speakers:
Emma Murtagh is Director of Development and Member Services for The Wheel. She is in charge of delivering The Wheel’s funding strategy. This includes identifying new areas for growth and opportunities, overseeing funding applications, and working with our partners and stakeholders. She also supports the teams that deliver our many member services – including our Skills, EU, and Shared Island Programmes – to identify opportunities and maximise their value to our members. Emma is a qualified trainer with a BA in English and Psychological Studies and an MA in Literature and Publishing, both from the University of Galway.
Perrine Cesbron joined The Wheel as Programme Support Officer in November 2022 where she began working with the Skills Development and Events & Programmes teams. Perrine later moved to our EU Programmes team as a Programme Officer, and is now the Project Manager of the PEACEPLUS Digital Communities project. Perrine has a bachelor's degree in English and Spanish Languages, a master's degree in international Cultural Strategies, and a professional background in marketing and events management.
