End Child Poverty Week: Education
Wednesday 10 September, 10.30am
St Ultan’s Primary School, Dublin 10
We are delighted to invite you to Day 3 of End Child Poverty Week. This week-long initiative spotlights the drivers of child poverty, the best practice solutions at national and local level that address the impact of child poverty and, the key investments Government can make in Budget 2026 to break the cycle of child poverty.
Day 3 focuses on Education and the need for investment to ensure every child has equal opportunity to access education and realise their full potential. This year, we are placing a specific focus on the importance of a DEIS Plus programme that ensures additional resources and capacity for schools supporting children and young people most impacted by poverty and disadvantage. The event will include contributions from professionals, department officials and will feature children’s voices throughout.
Speakers will include:
- St Ultan's Primary School, Campus Manager
- Cormac McCarthy, Principal, Tallaght Community National School, Jobstown
- Michael Gillespie, General Secretary, Teachers’ Union of Ireland
- Tanya Ward, Chief Executive of the Children’s Rights Alliance
The event will take place in St Ultan’s Primary School, Cherry Orchard Avenue, Dublin 10 NY53 on Wednesday 10 September, at 11.00am.
