The Global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence against women is a movement uniting individuals and groups around the world to call for the elimination of all forms of gender-based violence against women. The campaign is an opportunity to show solidarity among those organising against gender-based violence, to strengthen work and share strategies on GBV, and to call for action from those who can effect change.

In 2022 DRCC is celebrating the 16 Days Campaign with a number of activities and events, with a particular focus on promoting consent.

  • Under the banner of #Unite4Consent, we are marking the 16days of Activism with Art celebrating consent, activism, women and community & featuring the work of six wonderful artists (17 Nov-15 Dec, online)
  • In our webinar on The SAVI Report: 20 Years On, we revisit this seminal report on sexual abuse and violence in Ireland and its impact over the past two decades (8 December, online) #SAVI20
  • We are taking part in TikTok's #EndViolenceAgainstWomen campaign with its Unpack challenge to #unite4consent (25 Nov-10 Dec)
  • The DRCC Consent Team are hosting three of our brand new Mini Consent workshops where we delve into consent, culture and activism! (10 December, in person)

DRCC staff will also contribute to events organised by other organisations to mark the #16days campaign.
