LIFE Calls for 2026 Proposals Closing in September (€601.5M available)
Organisations interested in securing funding through the EU LIFE Programme 2026 have less than two months left to submit their applications, with more than €601.5 million available to support environmental, climate and clean energy projects across Europe.
The programme is backing projects that help deliver the European Union's environmental and climate ambitions while strengthening competitiveness, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and improving the resilience of Europe's energy systems. Funding is available for initiatives that restore nature and biodiversity, promote the circular economy, tackle pollution, improve climate resilience, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
The 2026 funding round includes support for a wide range of project types, including:
- Nature and Biodiversity: €166 million
- Clean Energy Transition: €85.5 million
- Circular Economy and Zero Pollution: €79 million
- Strategic Nature Projects: €75 million
- Strategic Integrated Environment Projects: €58 million
- Strategic Integrated Climate Projects: €30 million
- Climate Change Adaptation: €28 million
- Climate Change Mitigation: €28 million
- Projects on Legislative and Policy Priorities: €18 million
- NGO Operating Grants: €15 million
- Nature Governance: €7.5 million
- Environmental Governance: €6.5 million
- Climate Governance: €4 million
- Technical Assistance for Strategic Projects: €1 million
