With just one week to go until Summit 2026 on Thursday, 21 May, The Wheel has announced the full programme and several more speakers for its national conference for charities, community groups, and social enterprises.

Taking place at the exciting new location, the Helix in Dublin, Summit 2026 features an exciting agenda with over 40 speakers, an engaging expo, inspiring stories, energetic discussions, and seven practical breakout sessions. There will be something for everyone, whether you are a CEO, trustee, or volunteer. Be sure to register to secure your place.

As Ireland prepares to assume the EU Presidency in July, we have a unique opportunity to champion our sector’s key role not just at home in Ireland, but across the EU, in preserving and enhancing human rights and democracy, as well as strengthening the connection between people, their communities, the State, and Europe. Seamus Boland, President of the influential European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), will be addressing this theme in a special keynote address.

Jerry Buttimer TD, the Minister of State with oversight of charities, will deliver a special address ahead of the imminent launch of the Government's new five-year strategy to support the community and voluntary sector.

We are excited to announce that Eamon Ryan will be joining us for a special address titled “Keeping Hope Alive: The Role of Civil Society in Creating a Fairer and Safer Future.” Drawing on his extensive experience as both an activist and politician, Eamon will reflect on the vital role of civil society in a world where the rise of extremism, misinformation, and political turmoil threatens our capacity to build the societies we desire, especially in addressing the cost-of-living crisis and the climate crisis, both of which are exacerbated by our reliance on fossil fuels.

In addition to a series of engaging personal stories from individuals working and volunteering in the sector, delegates can also attend one of seven parallel sessions.

Overall, you can expect a stimulating day packed with new ideas, learning, and networking. Lunch is provided, and inspiration is guaranteed.
