Help Us Understand Skills Needs in the Community and Voluntary Sector

Posted on 14 Apr 2026

The Wheel is carrying out research into skills and training needs in the community and voluntary sector workforce. We want to get a clear and up-to-date picture of the experience and impact of accessing skills and training, throughout the sector. This will support The Wheel's advocacy on behalf of the 281,000 strong workforce delivering for Ireland’s communities every day.

The survey asks you to take 10 minutes to answer 25 short questions and help us gain valuable sector evidence. This will inform training offerings and our advocacy around what workers in our sector need.

If you're a decision maker (i.e. CEO, Director, Learning and Development or Human Resources), we need a little more time from you, but no more than 25 minutes to answer 38 questions. If you’re a decision maker in a large organisation, we have 44 questions for you, which shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes.

The insights from this research will greatly enrich The Wheel’s understanding and evidence base, therefore empowering us to advocate for you more effectively.

As a token of our appreciation, we will be giving away three free places on our half-day workshops. To be in with a chance of winning one of these places, please complete the survey and submit your email address by 5pm on Tuesday, 5 May 2026.
