Register Now for Charity Trustees’ Week 2025 Events
Charity Trustees’ Week is back for its ninth year from Monday, 10 to Friday, 14 November 2025. Five days of free practical events to celebrate and support the tireless work and commitment of Ireland’s voluntary charity trustees.
Charity Trustees’ Week is run in partnership by the Charities Regulator, Boardmatch Ireland, Carmichael, Charities Institute Ireland, Dóchas, Pobal, The Wheel, and Volunteer Ireland. There is a dedicated page on the Charities Regulator website with the full calendar of events and booking information, along with a library of free trustee guidance. You’ll also find ready-to-use social media assets which you can download to help spread the word and thank the charity trustees who you know.
Some events for your diary
This year we are focusing on the role of trustees and how best to fulfil the obligations involved. We are hosting three events and launching new guidance to explain the role better to existing trustees, and those who may wish to learn more about what being a trustee entails.
Monday, 10 November - 11 am to 12 noon
We kick off the week with an in-person event in our offices for the trustees of newly registered charities. This is an opportunity for them to meet us and ask practical questions that could assist them in fulfilling their obligations. As spaces are limited, this is an invitation only event.
Tuesday, 11 November - 7pm to 8pm
We are hosting a hybrid event in conjunction with Volunteer Ireland in Donegal Town. The Charities Regulator’s Chief Executive will look at the role of the charity trustee and what we, as the Regulator, expect, while our Director of Compliance will share insights on the most common concerns about charities that are raised with us, along with tips and guidance on how to avoid them. They will be joined for a question and answer session by trustees from two Donegal charities who will share their insights and experiences of being a trustee.
If you would like to attend this event in person, places are limited, so please book early.
Wednesday 12 November
We’ll be in Sligo for our final Meet the Regulator event of the week for trustees of charities in the North West in association with the Sligo Volunteer Centre.
The event is free, but places for this in-person only event are limited.
This year, the Charity Trustees Week organisers are making a particular request to charities and those who support and provide services to the sector to download the social assets and post during the week. Thank a trustee, share the events you’re attending, and don’t forget to encourage someone you know to take their first step onto a board.
