Nominate a Charity Trustee for the Charities Regulator Stakeholder Forum

Posted on 18 Mar 2025

This is a reminder that the closing date for nominations for the Charities Regulator’s Trustee Stakeholder Forum is fast approaching. If your charity hasn’t already nominated a trustee, you still have time to do so.

The forum is a structured environment for charity trustees and the Charities Regulator to exchange views, information, and ideas on matters of importance to the sector that come under our remit, including emerging issues, regulatory trends, and priorities. It also helps us to better understand the day-to-day realities for charity trustees of running a charity in line with regulatory obligations. All of this helps when we are developing guidance and regulatory materials.

Following a successful two-year pilot, the forum is now being established on a permanent basis.

Key details:

  • Three-year term
  • Three meetings per year (typically 6-8pm)
  • Member rotation system to maintain continuity while introducing new perspectives
  • Hybrid meeting format – two online /in-person in Dublin, one online-only.

Charities of all sizes are encouraged to consider submitting a nomination, particularly small and volunteer-only charities, as they represent a significant proportion of the sector.

Nomination deadline: 5:00 PM, Tuesday, 25 March 2025
