Dublin's Diplomatic Community Unites to Support Irish Charities Via International Charity Bazaar

Posted on 2 Nov 2023

The Irish Charity Bazaar (ICB), an initiative of resident embassies, Irish, and International community groups from more than 40 countries, takes place at the RDS in Dublin on Sunday, 19 November 2023 from 11:00 am - 4:30 pm.

A fixture of Dublin's social calendar since 2008, the bazaar offers a unique around-the-world-in-a-day experience while raising funds to support a wide range of Irish charities. Visitors of all ages can look forward to delicacies and traditional wares from around the globe while enjoying a fun-filled day of performances and entertainment.

More than 300 volunteers from 40 embassies and international community groups together with local and international businesses support the event. ICB Chair and spouse of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Bontle Ntsoaole  adds, "In a world rife with conflict, the international charity bazaar unites people from around the world in the spirit of giving, in a common cause.” Funds raised through the bazaar will provide grants to carefully vetted non-governmental organisations around Ireland.

"The bazaar provides not only an opportunity to showcase our various countries and share our cultures through food, traditional products and performances but equally importantly, to assist people in need, as well.

Selection is made from a diverse range of applicants to impact positively on the lives of people in need of all ages. Hilda Arenas, Director of the ICB says, “In 2022, ICB awarded €22,500 to 5 different non-governmental organisations. This year, with the public's support, we will make grants to a shortlist that includes The Crann Centre, Remember US, CuChulainn Blood Bikes, Newbridge Family Resource Centre, and Irish Red Cross for Humanitarian Relief in the Middle East.

Each admission ticket also entitles the bearer to a free entry in a drawing of attractive prizes, ranging from international flights and accommodation to restaurant vouchers and fine wines.

Charity Bazaar entrance donation €5 (under 12 years free).
