Calls for Expressions of Interest: Volunteer and Higher Education Representatives

Posted on 16 Feb 2021

In 2020, the Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, Joe O’Brien TD, published the National Volunteering Strategy 2021-2025. The Strategy includes a commitment to establish a National Volunteering Implementation Group, chaired by the Department of Rural and Community Development with representation from relevant Government Departments, State Agencies and sectoral stakeholders. The Implementation Group will be a key vehicle to oversee the implementation of the National Volunteering Strategy 2021-2025.

Seats to be filled by Expression of Interest

The overall composition of the Group, as outlined in the Draft Terms of Reference contained within the Information Sheet(s) below, reflects a balance between Government representation and volunteer stakeholders.

In total, there are three seats available on the Implementation Group, to be filled through this Expression of Interest:

  • Two seats for representatives within the volunteering community; and
  • One seat for a representative from a Higher Education Institution who is affiliated with the area of volunteering.

How to apply?

Interested individuals are now invited to submit their Expression of Interest Application via email (using the template below) to VSImplementation@drcd.gov.ie by close of business on Thursday, 25th February 2021. Any applications received after this date will not be considered.

It is envisaged that the first meeting of the Implementation Group will take place virtually on 10 March 2021.
