Organisation Overview
Fighting Blindness is a national charity dedicated to advancing research into degenerative sight loss and providing practical and emotional support to those affected. The Insight Counselling Service offers tailored counselling, peer support, and wellbeing initiatives for people living with sight loss.
Role Overview
This part-time role requires a person with strong people and organisational skills. The Support Coordinator / Clinical Support will act as the first point of contact for clients, oversee day-to-day operations and assist the Head of Insight Counselling with clinical governance and service delivery. The role involves administrative and coordination responsibilities to ensure high-quality, efficient client care.
Location: [Dublin 1 / remote flexibility]
Reports To: Head of Support Services
Hours: 2 days per week (flexible), fixed term contract – 6 months with possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities
Clinical
- Act as first point of contact for enquiries, intake, and referrals
- Support clinical governance and standards
- Maintain client records, waiting lists, and documentation
Operational & Administrative
- Coordinate service operations, including scheduling and client communications
- Support recruitment and onboarding of counsellors and volunteers
- Contribute to grant applications and reporting for management and funders
- Identify opportunities to improve service efficiency and processes
- Collaborate with the Head of Support Services, CEO and wider team
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Accredited therapist (PSI, IAHIP, IACP, or equivalent Or, would suit someone who is working towards accreditation
- Experience working with people with visual impairment desirable
- Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, and relevant legislation
