Salary: €39,500 - €41,000, dependent on experience

SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Risk and Policy Officer supports the organisation’s risk management, policy control and internal audit processes. Working closely with the Head of Compliance and Legal Affairs, this role is an important part of the compliance team, working to ensure the organisation’s risk management, internal audit and policy review activities are centrally tracked and organised. The role will also provide administrative support to the Audit and Risk Committee of the Society. This is an exciting and diverse role for someone who is well organised with excellent attention to detail. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
ROLE RESPONSIBLILTIES
- Maintain the organisation’s document base as it relates to:
- Risk management
- Policies and procedures
- Internal audit
- Be an admin user on RedFlare, the online risk tool used by the organisation
- Provide administrative support to the Audit and Risk Committee of the Society, including supporting with pack preparation and drafting of minutes
- Support implementation of the organisation's risk management plan
- Scope and prepare draft requests for tender for internal audit projects
- Support the implementation of the organisation's internal audit plan
- Be a key initial contact point for internal audit stakeholders and for those involved in risk management actions
- Support work on internal and external compliance matters related to the organisation's front line work, across both volunteer and staff led initiatives
- Work actively towards the achievement of the Irish Red Cross goals.
- Undertake training and development as required
- Abide by and uphold the Principles of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
- Undertake any other reasonable work-related duties and responsibilities assigned by the relevant line manager that are consistent with the nature of the job and level of responsibility
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Essential Criteria
- Experience working in a role that involves report writing, analysis and engagement with a wide variety of stakeholders
- A high level of attention to detail
- Excellent written communication skills with experience in providing high quality analysis and reports
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft office suite, particularly excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and build relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
- Ability to prioritise and manage time and workload effectively
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in humanitarian, NGO, or charity sector
- Familiarity with policy development, risk management and / or internal audit activities
- Experience in providing administrative support to groups, such as drafting minutes
- Experience with online platforms like RedFlare
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI
