Policy and Research Coordinator

Policy and Research Coordinator role with IPRT, leading evidence-based research and advocacy to influence progressive penal policy in Ireland.

The Irish Penal Reform Trust (IPRT) is Ireland’s leading NGO campaigning for human rights and best practice in the penal system. We work to advance progressive penal policy in which prison is a sanction of last resort, through evidence-based research, advocacy and engagement with decision-makers.

IPRT is now seeking a Policy and Research Coordinator to join our team. This is a key role leading and coordinating IPRT’s research and policy work, with responsibility for developing high-quality evidence-led outputs to influence public and political debate. A core aspect of the role is leading IPRT’s flagship annual project, Progress in the Penal System.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in policy analysis and research delivery, excellent writing and analytical skills, and a good understanding of Irish penal and/or social policy. The role involves engagement with consultation processes, international human rights mechanisms, legislators, policymakers and other stakeholders.

IPRT is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds, including people with criminal records. We do not ask for information about convictions during the recruitment process.
