The Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Neurofeedback Practitioner to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be a mental health professional, psychotherapist, psychologist, or related field with a solid background in supporting clients with complex trauma and a genuine curiosity about neuroscience.
You should be comfortable working with technology, eager to expand your clinical expertise through neurofeedback, and motivated to help clients achieve lasting regulation and healing through brain-based interventions. Previous NFT training is desirable but not essential.
The Neurofeedback Practitioner will be responsible for delivering neurofeedback sessions as part of our clinical therapeutic offering. Working closely with our clinical team, you will assess client needs, develop tailored neurofeedback protocols, and monitor client progress to support emotional regulation, nervous system balance, and trauma recovery. This role requires a practitioner who combines technical expertise with deep empathy and sensitivity to the complex needs of trauma survivors.
The NFT Practitioner will report to the Clinical Director. The place of work is the One in Four offices at 35-36 Arran Quay, Dublin 7. Potential hybrid working (one day out of four per week from home, subject to client needs). The working hours are 22.5 hours (over three days, including one late day, 1 to 9 pm, and one early start 8 am to 4 pm. Availability to work on Saturdays is an advantage. This is a permanent post (following a probationary period).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide neurofeedback assessments and interventions to clients within a trauma-informed and ethically grounded practice framework.
- Deliver and develop clinical NFT protocols for clients.
- Collaborate with therapists and advocacy case managers to ensure coordinated client care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to outcome measurement and service evaluation.
- Educate clients about neurofeedback processes and support them in understanding their progress.
- Participate in team meetings, reflective practice sessions, and supervision.
- Maintain professional standards in line with organisational policies and relevant professional bodies.
- Maintain equipment and consumables, coordinating with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted practice and care.
- Work closely with our communications team to broaden the outreach of the NFT programme.
Caseload Management
- Undertake the appropriate caseload assigned by the Clinical Director.
- Attend regular line management with the Clinical Team Leader and case management supervision with the Clinical Director.
- Ensure that the Clinical Director is kept informed of issues regarding client safety re: suicide risk, self-harm, medication, and psychiatric needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case notes and client records.
Best Practice
- Read relevant current literature and stay up-to-date with developments regarding best practice and work as part of the clinical team toward best practice models.
- Commit to further training and to amending practice in line with organisational needs.
- Adherence to the One in Four Code of Ethical Practice.
- Adherence to the policies and procedures of One in Four as set out in the Staff Handbook and within the Psychotherapy Programme.
- Adherence to the Children First Guidance and the Children First Act 2015.
- Ensure that appropriate records and statistics are kept up-to-date within the requirements of Data Protection legislation.
- To adhere to the confidentiality policy of the organisation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaising with external agencies (e.g., social workers, probation officers, and medical professionals) regarding clients’ needs and/or risk.
- Deliver specialist training in-house to placement therapists or to external agencies in relation to NFT.
- As part of normal working hours, to attend clinical team meetings, internal group supervision, and individual external supervision.
Person Profile
One in Four is seeking a professional and empathetic Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Psychologist, or allied mental health professional to provide Neurofeedback Therapy as part of our clinical offering. The post holder will have professional training in a mental health field and experience supporting clients who have experienced complex trauma and strive to provide the highest standards of service, informed by the clients’ evolving needs. To be successful in this role, the post holder will have experience with NFT or be willing to undertake the required training. They will need a level of proficiency with technology and be comfortable learning new tech systems. They will have the personal resilience and flexibility to work with a diverse range of service users. They will engage with service users and colleagues with dignity and respect, and continually act in the best interests of the service users to ensure that One in Four can continue their efforts to break the cycle of abuse. The appointable candidate will be an excellent team player with a calm temperament who works without judgement or ego, consistently placing the needs and well-being of service users at the centre of their practice.
Core Competencies and Skills Summary
- A minimum of 2 years relevant experience working with adults in the area of complex trauma.
- A minimum level 8 qualification in a mental health field.

Remuneration
A competitive salary range of €52,000 to €61,000 (pro rata for three days), commensurate with experience, is offered for the position.
