Role Purpose
The Director of Development & Fundraising is a pivotal member of Concern Worldwide’s Senior Management Team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this strategic leadership role is responsible for leading the organisation’s fundraising activities across Ireland while contributing to the development of a global funding strategy in collaboration with colleagues in the United Kingdom, United States and South Korea.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development & Fundraising is a pivotal member of Concern's Senior Management Team. This is a strategically significant leadership appointment, responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation's fundraising vision across Ireland while contributing to the development of a global funding strategy in partnership with colleagues across the United Kingdom, the United States and South Korea.
Providing leadership to a multidisciplinary fundraising function, the successful candidate will drive sustainable income growth through an integrated portfolio encompassing public, corporate, philanthropic and major donor fundraising. They will champion exceptional supporter engagement, strengthen Concern's brand and market position, and ensure that all fundraising activity is delivered to the highest standards of governance, regulatory compliance and sector best practice.
As a senior organisational leader, they will contribute to strategic planning, organisational performance, risk management and corporate decision-making, while building influential relationships with donors, strategic partners, peer organisations and key stakeholders in Ireland and internationally.
Requirements
The successful candidate will bring substantial senior leadership experience in public fundraising, ideally gained within a similarly complex environment, together with a proven record of delivering significant income growth across multiple fundraising disciplines. They will possess demonstrated expertise in developing major donor programmes, leading integrated fundraising and marketing strategies, managing high-performing teams and building lasting relationships with donors, partners and stakeholders.
