Creative Workshop Facilitator
We’re inviting self-employed workshop facilitators to join our panel and work alongside artists delivering creative workshops.
Throughout 2026 we will deliver several creative workshops nationwide to contribute to our work programme. Our creative workshops aim to:
1. Widen access to suicide bereavement peer support using a creative approach;
2. Enable people bereaved by suicide to connect socially with others with a lived experienced and shared understanding of suicide loss within a facilitated creative and learning space.
3. Empower people bereaved by suicide with a practical and/or creative skill which can offer a sense of achievement and/or support self-regulation and benefit mental health and well-being;
4. Widen awareness of suicide bereavement resources, services and supports available.
How the Panel will operate:
- Appointment to the panel will be confirmed by a letter of invitation to the successful applicants. This appointment letter does not constitute an offer or commitment to enter into a service contract, and no contractual rights shall exist until a formal written Contract for Services has been executed by HUGG for the relevant project.
- Appointment to the panel is for a period of 2-years.
- Project offers will follow as they arise and will be based on the skills and experience outlined during application.
- Project offers will include a complete written brief, time commitment and fee offer relevant to that project.
- Panellists have the right to accept or decline project offers as they arise.
- If a panellist is contracted to a project, this will be via a Contract for Service.
- No contract will be issued without proof of tax clearance, and/or VAT registration number where applicable.
- Contracted panellists will not be expected to work exclusively for HUGG.
Renumeration:
Flat fee per workshop plus mileage.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
- Be an experienced group facilitator and demonstrate a successful track record of group facilitation ideally in a wide range of contexts and environments.
- Availability for a minimum of 3 dates listed on the provisional creative workshop schedule below:

- Completion of a FREE suicide prevention 1st aid course within the last 24 months ( ‘Let’s Talk About Suicide’, ‘SafeTALK’, and/or ‘ASIST’).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the ability to interact in a professional manner with HUGG staff, key stakeholders, collaborators and HUGG service users.
- Excellent presentation skills and digital literacy skills (Email, Teams/Zoom, and PowerPoint skills essential). Must have access to own laptop for the purpose of delivering a presentation.
- Be an excellent listener and communicator with an empathic, compassionate and caring approach.
- Awareness of own personal boundaries and importance of selfcare.
- Be organised and reliable - can work independently and to deadlines.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the work of HUGG, an understanding of the role of suicide postvention services, and suicide bereavement supports.
- Must have full clean driving licence and access to transport.
- Be able to provide appropriate references on request (past employer, community or voluntary organisation, educator).
Desirable:
- Qualification in counselling or training in active listening skills.
- Understanding of suicide loss and/or grief education.
- Professional experience and/or active involvement in the voluntary or charity sector.
- Lived experience of suicide loss.
