Community Assistant
Core Responsibilities
- Reception & Inquiries: Greet visitors, answer telephone and email queries, and distribute up-to-date community information.
- Bookings and Cash Handling: Manage room and hall bookings using Booking systems; handle payments and maintain accurate cash and electronic payment records.
- Room Setup & Maintenance: Physically prepare conference and multi-purpose rooms by setting up furniture and equipment; cleaning of rooms and Public Areas as required.
- Security & Health & Safety: Monitor for hazards, ensure high standards of safety, and provide first aid treatment when necessary. Act as a key holder for opening and closing the premises; ensure all windows and doors are secured and alarms are set.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate attendance records, filing systems, and update the center’s social media platforms.
- Promotion and Sale: Working with the Centre Manager help promote and drive sales as per the Centre’s agreed goals
- Community Engagement: Working with the Team to create a inclusive Community welcome for the all the Local community of Laragh. Glendalough and Surrounding Areas
Essential Skills & Qualities
- Interpersonal Skills: A polite, friendly, and non-judgmental and inclusive attitude toward all users of the Centre.
- Digital Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Social Media Platforms.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail for managing bookings, and financial record-keeping.
- Flexibility: Readiness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, on a shared Rota.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service, administration, or working in a community-based setting is highly desirable.
Additional Duties
Working with and help create new and existing the Brockagh Centre Community Voluntary Groups. Helping the group to organise their yearly schedule, planning and organising events throughout the year as required
- Working with the Centre Manager Liaise with Local, County and National Arts Community to facilitate showcasing of our Heritage and Culture and to Create fundraising opportunities for the Centre and joint initiatives with our collaborative partners
- Work Closely local Sporting organisations so the Brockagh Centre can be used as a facility to further their own Club and organisation Goals
Support to the bookkeeper/queries with accounts/customers/suppliers/general
Working with the Brockagh Team on Community events, Concerts and Markets
