Community and Events Fundraiser

We’re looking for a Community & Events Fundraiser who can inspire people to take action. The Community & Events Fundraiser leads St James Hospital Foundation grassroots fundraising activity - building strong local relationships, delivering compelling fundraising events, and using digital marketing, social media, and storytelling to inspire people to give, participate, and advocate. The role combines traditional relationship-building with modern online marketing, using social media, storytelling, and digital marketing to inspire supporters and convert interest into action.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building meaningful relationships with supporters, volunteers, community groups and corporate partners, while creating compelling campaigns that inspire people to support the SJH Foundation’s mission.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and creative individual who enjoys combining fundraising, relationship management, event delivery and marketing to create lasting impact.

What you will do:

Event Management: 

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate fundraising events (in-person and virtual). Manage logistics, budgets, risk assessments, and supporter experience from first contact to post-event stewardship including external agencies to ensure projects meet agreed objectives.
  • Develop new fundraising events and supporter experiences to grow income and awareness.

Community Engagement and Fundraising:

  • Build relationships with local corporates, clubs, and volunteers to grow community-led fundraising. 
  • Deliver exceptional supporter care through timely communication, recognition and stewardship.
  • Provide guidance, toolkits, and ongoing support to empower people to fundraise confidently.
  • Ensure compliance with fundraising best practice, GDPR and internal policies.

Digital Marketing: 

  • Use social media, email campaigns, and online platforms to promote fundraising activities, recruit participants, and share impactful stories. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to deliver creative campaigns that inspire participation and donations.

Hospital and team Collaboration:  Work closely with communications, digital, and programme teams to align messaging, share stories, and maximise reach.

Excellent project management and organisational skills.

Analysis and Tracking: Report on KPIs, trends, and opportunities.
