Communications Assistant – Graduate (Social and Digital Media)

The Organisation 

Early Childhood Ireland is the leading children’s advocacy and membership organisation. We work in partnership with our members to achieve quality experiences for every child in Early Years and School Age care settings. We advocate for an effective and inclusive Early Years and School Age care system which values, supports, and invests in childhood, children and services.

The Role 

This entry-level graduate role is designed to provide support to the Communications Manager and the wider Communications team in delivering Early Childhood Ireland’s communications strategy. The Communications Assistant will gain hands-on experience in social and digital media, contribute to the creation of engaging content, and help promote the Organisation’s vision and mission. The role focuses on increasing awareness of Early Childhood Ireland’s work and supporting initiatives that ensure every young child in Ireland thrives in quality, affordable, and sustainable Early Years settings.

The Communications Assistant will collaborate with other teams and participate in a range of activities, including planning and developing content for social media, learning platforms, events, and websites. While the role is developmental in nature, the Assistant will have the opportunity to contribute creative ideas and learn from experienced team members.

This is a supportive role within the Communications Team, aimed at developing digital content and highlighting the importance of high-quality experiences for children. The role holder’s contributions will help leverage Early Childhood Ireland’s communications tools to achieve strategic goals.

Salary and Key Benefits:

A salary commensurate with graduate experience, in the range €28,000 to €32,000 pro rata is offered. 

This is a full-time post reporting to the Communications Manager. 

The contract is temporary, fixed term contract of 8 months duration subject to funding, and the probationary period is three months.

Location: Hybrid. Our head office is in Tallaght; Dublin and we are currently on a blended basis with time to be spent working remotely and at our national office – the combination to be agreed with the successful candidate.
