A Guide to the Shared Island Civic Society Fund

North–South collaboration strengthens civil society by building relationships, sharing knowledge, and creating more inclusive, impactful solutions across the island. The Shared Island Civic Society Fund is a key driver in enabling this collaboration and innovation. 

This information webinar will help you better understand the opportunities available through the fund. With direct input from fund managers in the Department of Foreign Affairs, attendees will learn what the fund supports, who can apply, and how to develop a strong North–South project. 

You’ll also hear directly from the Department on eligibility, priorities, and what makes a competitive application. 

By attending, you will:

Meet the Facilitators

Emma Murtagh is Director of Development and Member Services at The Wheel. She has over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector and has secured millions of euro in funding for a wide range of projects. Emma specialises in grant funding, with particular expertise in EU programmes, and regularly supports organisations in developing funding strategies and writing successful applications. She is also a qualified trainer with a strong track record in delivering practical, results-focused training.
