AGRICULTURAL COMMUNITY ANIMATOR

Fixed-term to December 2027

Full time, to include some eve and weekend work

Salary up to €56,461 + 13% pension + expenses

Maigue Rivers Trust is seeking an energetic and practical Agricultural Community Animator to engage farmers across the Maigue catchment and support delivery of the national Farming for Water EIP.

The role will involve recruiting and supporting farmers, organising local outreach, developing practical water-quality and rainwater-management measures, helping secure funding, monitoring completed works and promoting good practice across farming and community networks.

THE PERSON

We are looking for someone who:

• has strong agricultural, environmental or rural-development knowledge;
• can build trusted relationships with farmers and communities;
• is organised, self-motivated and confident working independently;
• understands water quality, biodiversity and nature-based solutions; and
• has excellent communication and project-management skills.

Essential: Level 8 qualification in a relevant discipline and at least two years’ relevant experience. A full driving licence, own vehicle and business-use insurance are required
