Join leaders, changemakers, and community innovators from across the island of Ireland for a special gathering exploring collaboration through the lens of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

This half-day conference will feature: 

  • Inspiring case studies of cross-border cooperation
  • A “Meet the Innovators” panel spotlighting grassroots success stories
  • A consultation workshop on the tools & policies needed for deeper collaboration
  • A funder showcase highlighting key agencies and programmes supporting shared island work
  • Networking lunch & funder expo.

Whether you’re from a charity, community group, or social enterprise, this event offers the chance to connect, learn, and unlock new opportunities for shared impact. 

This event is free to attend but places are limited so early registration is recommended.

This event is part of The Wheel’s iCommunity programme, funded by the Shared Island Civic Society Fund at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

MEET YOUR SPEAKERS

Celine McStravick, CEO, NICVA

CELINE McSTRAVICK is CEO of NICVA (Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action), Northern Ireland's leading umbrella organisation representing over 1,450 voluntary and community sector organisations. Throughout her 25-year career in the sector, she has established herself as an innovative leader who champions social change and community empowerment. Prior to NICVA, Celine held the position of Strategic Director for External Affairs at NCB, a prominent UK-wide research and systems change charity. 

Celine's strategic leadership extends across multiple sectors through her board service. She has contributed her expertise to organisations including CO3, SportNI, and Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education (NICIE), demonstrating her dedication to strengthening voluntary sector leadership, expanding sports participation, and advancing integrated education.

Aidan Campbell, Research Programme Development Manager, Centre for Cross Border Cooperation

AIDAN CAMPBELL was appointed to the post of Research Programme Development Manager of The Centre for Cross Border Cooperation in April 2024. He manages the strategy to support the Centre’s mission to strengthen cross-border cooperation and engagement. He is responsible for increasing the centre's research profile by commissioning and, when required, undertaking unique and relevant pieces of research. Before joining the Centre, Aidan was previously employed as Policy and Public Affairs Officer with Rural Community Network where he coordinated the Network’s work on policy and research and delivered training. He studied at Queen’s University and NUI Maynooth.

SUZIE

SUZIE CAHN is the Shared Island Programmes Director at The Wheel, with decades of experience in community engagement, arts in health, sustainable development education, and project management across Ireland’s community, voluntary, and social enterprise sectors. She leads iCommunity, a partnership between The Wheel and NICVA supporting cross-border civil society collaboration, and Shifting Tides, a Creative Ireland–funded project uniting coastal communities around Carlingford Lough through marine ecology and the arts. Suzie has also managed The Wheel’s role in EMERGE, a Just Transition project for EMCARO, and previously worked with TASC’s Climate Justice Centre, SECAD Partnership, and DLDC on sustainability initiatives. She is co-founder and director of Carraig Dúlra, a social enterprise promoting regenerative, community-led permaculture education and design. Suzie is the Chair of Shuttleknit’s board, a Pobal CSP Traveller community social enterprise in Wicklow Town.
