Join us for this webinar to learn all about the Future Board Leaders Programme, taking place as part of Charity Trustee's Week 2025.
Future Board Leaders is a programme run jointly by The Leadership Academy and Boardmatch. The programme began in 2022 with the aim of bringing new and diverse voices to Irish charity boards.
The programme has had three successful runs and we have successfully trained and matched over 50 people from across Irish society to Irish charity Boards.
This webinar will introduce you to Sharon Hughes, Leadership Academy Manager and Hannah Coleman, Communications and Education Manager at Boardmatch Ireland who will give a background to the programme. They will then introduce three of the FBL Alumni who are sitting on Charity Boards now to discuss what they learnt from the programme and to answer any questions people might have.
Future Board Leaders 2026 applications will open in December 2025.

Meet Your Speakers:
Sharon Hughes is the Leadership Academy Manager in the Skills Team of The Wheel. Sharon has been involved in membership organisations for over 20 years. Before working for The Leadership Academy, she was C.E.O. of a nonprofit. Her background is managing member Events and Communications. Sharon is a qualified Coach, is a member of the Teaching Council of Ireland and is currently studying Psychology. She is low-key obsessed with Leadership. Hannah Coleman joined the Boardmatch team in 2017 where she is the Communications & Education Manager, overseeing brand, marketing, events, board recruitment website, training programmes, and board review services. Hannah is also an arts enthusiast, with over 20 years of classical ballet training and a BA in English with Film Studies from UCD. Since February 2020, Hannah has been a trustee and company secretary on the Board of the Irish National Youth Ballet. Hannah advocates board volunteering, particularly for those people who might not consider themselves potential candidates.
