Whistleblowing and Protected Disclosures - Preparing for the EU Whistleblowing Directive

Posted on 16 Jul 2020

As part of the Integrity at Work initiative, Transparency International Ireland will be hosting an online workshop: ‘Whistleblowing and Protected Disclosures - Preparing for the EU Whistleblowing Directive’ which will take place on 23 July from 9am – 1.00pm.

When the EU Whistleblowing Directive comes into force in 2021, more organisations in Ireland will be required to implement whistleblowing policies and procedures. Now is the time for employers to review their arrangements and ensure they are in line with best practice.

The aim of this workshop is to inform managers about their responsibilities under the Protected Disclosures Act (PDA) 2014, outline the recommendations of the EU Whistleblowing Directive and share best practice and insights on dealing with reports and disclosures.

The workshop will answer the following questions:

  • What are the duties of employers under the Protected Disclosures Act?
  • What are the requirements of the new EU Whistleblowing Directive?
  • What are best practice principles for dealing with reports/disclosures?
  • What are the key considerations in dealing with reports?

Whether your organisation already deals with reports or has yet to receive one, this workshop will help you prepare for the changes that the Directive will bring.

As places are limited, early registration is advised. You can register for your place here.
