WHAT FUTURE FOR SYRIA?

Date and Time:    Tuesday 11th June, 18.00 - 20.00

Location:    Joly Theatre, Hamilton Building, Trinity College, Dublin 2

Description:

Legendary War Photographer Paul Conroy will discuss what future for Syria with the writer and former political prisoner Yassin Al Haj Saleh, regarded by many as the 'Conscience of the Syrian Revolution.' At a time when political prisoners are still being tortured and killed in detention by the Assad regime as it continues to be accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity in its attack on civilians in Idlib, the last major area outside its control, the prospects for real peace in Syria seem as far away as ever. Yassin Al Haj Saleh the author of the acclaimed 'Impossible Revolution' and Paul Conroy, critically wounded with war correspondent Marie Colvin when she was killed by the Syrian regime, is the author of 'Under The Wire', turned into a major international documentary and the basis for the acclaimed Hollywood movie 'A Private War’. They both offer two very unique perspectives on the future of Syria and make this an event not to be missed.
