Invitation to 17th October UN Day for the Eradication of Poverty
The 17th October Committee invites you to this year's Dublin event for the UN Day for the Eradication of Poverty which takes place Tuesday 17 October from 11am to 12.30 pm at the Human Rights and Poverty Stone Custom House Quay Dublin 1.
The gathering will include testimonies based on lived experiences of poverty and socio- economic discrimination, speeches, a creative common gesture, music and songs. This event is an important moment to listen to the words and expertise of those with an experience of poverty.
The Irish theme for this year’s International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is Let Dignity be Our Compass; Working together towards change.
The four key areas which are important for respecting the dignity of all are:
- Zero Discrimination
- Affordable Accommodation
- A Minimum Standard of Income
- Dignified Work and Opportunities to Participate.
