Getting Beyond the Indifference of Difference in Building Sustainable Relationships and Resolving Conflict. How Gnosis of the Future beats Diagnosis of the Past. (Free Zoom Webinar, Thurs 15 Jan - 7.00 - 8.30pm
Doctors.
Who needs them?
OK we all do from time to time.
But have you ever noticed that the only time we ever visit them is when something has gone wrong with us physically.
No one ever visited the Doctor to say – Hey Doc I’ve just popped in to say that everything is tickety boo and I’ve never felt better.
Those placebos you gave me really worked; can I have some more?
Doctors try to diagnose the problem we’re having with our health and prescribe some kind of remedy to hopefully make us well again.
Great.
Diagnosing the problem providing it leads to remedy is all well and good and clearly has it place.
However in conflict what we tend to do is diagnose each other negatively and what is different about and therefore wrong with the “other” party.
You’re so this.
And you’re so that.
Dia as a prefix comes from Greek and has several meanings but some of them are – apart, away from and opposite or opposing.
As in people being diametrically opposed to each other – which literally means the distance in metres between them!
Gnosis on the other hand has even more meanings but can be seen to mean knowledge, knowing, wisdom, intuitive understanding, and even transcendent and spiritual truth.
In a word it suggests – Insight.
Therefore it is not that wise to do something that it opposite to Insight in trying to resolve conflict and build sustainable relationships.
For example, it shows an extreme lack of Insight to think we can exploit and pollute our Home Planet and think that in doing so we can build any kind of sustainable future.
Or that Economic Growth based in exploiting limited and finite resources makes the future better for future generations.
Or that escalating conflict and trying to beat the “enemy” can somehow remedy the past or build some kind of sustainable relationship with them in the future.
Showing Indifference to each other literally means that we are In Difference.
It is true that in some ways we are all different and unique.
But it is only in finding and sharing our samenesses that we find the shared path towards a sustainable future in all our relationships.
In this Free Zoom Webinar we shall be looking at the folly of Indifference and the power of Gnosis in not only resolving conflicts but in connecting us all to a greater and reality that the one that conflicts inevitably lead us to.
All are welcome and hopefully it will be an interesting and enjoyable process together with some light bulb moments along the way.
