Diversity and Inclusion Survey

Posted on 12 May 2021

Sing Ireland is the national representative for the singing sector in Ireland. During the pandemic we have worked diligently to keep the nation singing; bringing health and wellbeing benefits for individuals across the country during a time of isolation for many. Sing Ireland was formed to promote and develop choral singing in Ireland. Since its formation in 1980 there have been numerous initiatives and programmes that Sing Ireland have successfully run. Sing Ireland’s Mission is to enhance people’s lives through singing. This is for every person living on the island of Ireland.

Sing Ireland recently launched our Inclusion and Diversity Policy and a Guide to promote diversity in choirs and singing groups in Ireland and to make them as inclusive as possible. Alongside this there was a webinar hosted by Sing Ireland and Cork International Choral Festival discussing diversity and inclusion in choirs and singing groups in Ireland.

To learn more about the population’s experience of choirs and singing groups, Sing Ireland has created a survey for individuals. First hand accounts of people’s experiences with choirs and singing groups will further inform Sing Ireland on the inclusivity and diversity of the choral and group singing sector in Ireland. All the information will be useful and can help us better reach our goal of enhancing everyone’s life in Ireland through singing. The survey is anonymous to protect all individuals and to encourage as much engagement as possible.
