Charities Governance Code: Reference books now in all local libraries across Ireland and new online training dates announced

Posted on 6 Nov 2020

The Charities Regulator is pleased to announce that hard copies of the Charities Governance Code are now available in all local libraries across Ireland. We hope these reference books will be particularly useful for those working in the charities sector who have limited access to the internet. Given the latest Government restrictions it may be some time before we can visit local libraries unfortunately. However, these library reference books are intended as an additional support for charity trustees designed to complement existing guidance materials and templates which are available as part of the Charities Regulator’s Governance Code Toolkit available online. You will find all of the information your charity needs to comply with the Charities Governance Code, including templates and sample forms, at www.charitiesregulator.ie.

In addition to this the Charities Regulator is releasing additional dates for our free Charities Governance Code training for charity trustees. This training is designed to help charity trustees in their efforts to comply with the Charities Governance Code.

Every registered charity should nominate only one charity trustee to attend a training session and charity trustees of small, volunteer-only charities are particularly encouraged to attend. Places are limited so early booking is advisable.

Spaces on training sessions are limited. If you cannot attend a training session and do not let us know, then you are depriving another charity trustee of a space on the training session and the space is wasted.  We respectfully ask that if you register for a training session and can no longer attend, that you please cancel your booking
