Acquired Brain Injury Ireland Launches New Training and Employment Programme for Carers

Posted on 1 Jun 2023

Acquired Brain Injury Ireland’s On With Life Programme has launched a new programme for anyone caring for a loved one with brain injury to help with their transition to employment, training or education.

The On With Training and Employment programme aims to support carers and family carers who wish to begin or return to employment, training and education.

Acquired Brain Injury Ireland (ABII) helps survivors to rebuild their lives after brain injury. It also provides support to carers and family members of brain injury survivors through its On With Life Programme.

On With Life has established the On With Training and Employment programme because it recognises and understands the challenges that Family Carers experience in finding and retaining employment or returning to training and education.

On With Training & Employment will deliver tailored training and support to address the practical and emotional challenges met by Family Carers that are transitioning to employment, training or education.

There will be a 12-week course involving access to webinars delivered by experts on the subjects of life/career guidance, ICT skills, CV & interview preparation, recruitment, advocacy & remote working and four hours of one-to-one tutoring from professionals in the field tailored to personal requirements. Every workshop will take place online via Zoom.

This programme will also include a personal development grant with one-to-one support to help decide how to use it and 18 months of continuous support. On With Life would like to thank Pobal Dormant Accounts Fund for providing funding to establish this new programme.
