Member Q&A

What is your goal?

We are committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy to the highest ethical and professional standards to all members of society regardless of financial means, religious beliefs, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or educational background.

How have you been working towards it?

Our centre is run by a diverse team of professional counsellors and psychotherapists. All of our staff are either accredited by the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), the IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy), are Registered Psychologists with the PSI (Psychological Society Ireland), or are working towards accreditation. All of our counsellors and psychotherapists work within recognised codes of ethics and the highest professional standards.

How has being a member of The Wheel helped?

The Wheel has given us great fundraising advice and information, and also HR and Financial Management advice.

How can people support you?

Right now we're looking for help on promoting ourselves through social media! Is that a skill you have?

Otherwise you can donate a few bob at www.corkcounsellingservices.ie. A gift of €25 will help us to cover the cost of one counselling session, a gift of €300 will help us to cover the cost of a course of treatment.

Whatever amount you can afford will help us to deliver services to those that need it.

Do you have any success stories to share?

Lukas was truant and sick for months from school when he came for counselling. Now he's back fully engaged in school and on zoom.

He needed to get a lot of things off his chest and being heard helped restore his energy. Lukas has the challenge of dual culture (Irish and Lithuanian) as well as all the usual teenage goings-on.
