WCI Waterford Development Worker

Are you passionate about promoting women’s equality and working in the community development sector? We have just the opportunity for you!

This position offers an opportunity to work in a feminist community development project that supports women’s equality and women’s well-being.

Employed by the WCI Board of Directors, the Development Worker is responsible for the engagement in community development work within WCI Waterford and to facilitate and support the development, well-being, training, and networking of women in the local area.

The successful candidate will have:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the community development sector.
• Minimum of Level 6 qualification in community development or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
• An understanding of grassroots feminism, community education and development principles.
• The ability to outreach and engage with women in the local area.
• The ability to identify the relevant training, supports and needs of women in the area.
• The ability to assist with the planning and the delivery of relevant programmes and activities within WCI Waterford.
• The ability to network with other community organisations to support women’s participation and strengthen referral pathways.
• The ability to work as part of a team.

The salary for the post is based on the 2nd Point of WCI Development Worker Salary Scale - €33,491.00 (pro rata).
