Fundraising Officer

Fundraising is a critical part of sustaining Threshold's services and advocacy, and they are seeking an experienced fundraiser to join their team.

Job Type: Full Time - Monday to Friday
Annual Salary: €38,000
 
Introduction and Overview

Threshold is Ireland's leading national tenant support charity, working to prevent homelessness and campaign for housing as a basic right. They provide advice, advocacy, and practical support to renters and people at risk of losing their homes, while also working to create long-term change in housing policy.
Our work is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Fundraising is a critical part of sustaining Threshold's services and advocacy, and they are seeking an experienced fundraiser to join their team.
The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering excellent donor care and supporting the delivery of multi-channel fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate will combine excellent organisational skills with creativity, data-driven decision making, and a strong ability to develop donor loyalty and grow income.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for donors, ensuring prompt and professional responses to queries.
  • Lead on donor care, handling enquiries, and delivering best-practice stewardship.
  • Manage donation processing, ensuring proper coding, allocation, and timely acknowledgements.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive donor records on Salesforce, ensuring GDPR compliance and monthly reconciliations.
  • Support the Assistant Fundraising Manager in developing and delivering multi-channel donor retention, donor development and donor acquisition campaigns (newsletters, direct mail, tax)
  • Create regular reports on fundraising activities and campaign performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and Salesforce.
  • Analyse donor trends to inform campaign and retention strategies.
  • Prepare financial and impact reports for specific projects and funders as required.
  • Manage and optimise online fundraising platforms such as iRaiser, Benevity, idonate.
  • Assist in developing proposals with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Help identify and develop new income streams while maximising existing opportunities.
  • Collaborate on the production of fundraising materials and promotional content.
  • Assist in creating and scheduling fundraising-focused social media content.
  • Ensure the fundraising section of the Threshold website is current and optimised for donor conversion.
  • Manage email communications to supporters, including appeals and newsletters.
  • Contribute to the overall strategic development of the organisation.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the fundraising department.

Person Specification: Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required
Essential

  • At least two years' experience in a similar fundraising role.
  • Proven experience delivering excellent donor care and stewardship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling supporter communications.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, with experience using fundraising databases (Salesforce desirable).
  • Ability to analyse data and prepare reports to support decision making.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.

Desirable

  • Experience in grant, trust, or corporate fundraising.
  • Experience delivering digital fundraising campaigns.
  • Demonstrable project management skills.

Post Conditions

  • Salary: €38,000 pro rata
  • Full-time position (subject to a 6-month probationary period) Mon- Fri, 9am-5.30pm.
